They're continuing to bring new people in. That is enough replacement, as they can continue to tweak things for subsequent batches if they wanted to. In the grand scheme of things, I think our biggest concern is becoming too monstrous to be within the city walls.
[ Which may or may not happen, but it's a concern that's lingering in her mind. The first group so many years ago died before they were a long-term logistic to deal with. And they had the bonus of being citizens first, known, even loved. They had the advantage of people who would've cared about them, even at their most beastly, if no one else.
Not so for them. ]
I will work on the upper class when it's time. I have some ideas but I think we need to start slow.
[ And they likely will want a certain kind of Augmented, so she needs to consider that first. ]
I've reached out to Momo and Elysia about this, as they're both friendly faces. Ace and Texas have also been contacted - they're working with me on the post office conundrum, so I think their faces will be known quickly enough that it'll add to our repertoire. So that will cover... Sophia, Gloria, East Sophia, Water's Edge, and Belle Ville if we split it up accordingly. I also think it's within our best interest to double-up at times.
[ So they may need just a few more people if they wanted to do that, but seven is a good number to start. ]
I don't think the issues are necessarily separate.
[Even if throwing them out of the city and keeping them as investments feel like opposing ideas, there's still the money. Injecting the existing Augmented with god knows what is probably still cheaper than getting more of them here in such large numbers.
Still, details.]
Momo is a good choice; the rest I don't know. I'll ask around for anyone who might be interested in the future, if you want. What kind of outreach are you thinking we do, besides keeping a finger on the city's pulse?
[ There are only so many things to keep track of, though, and she wants to focus on the potential timeline they have. ]
Elysia does frequent, ah, 'streams' on the network. You may catch one if you're lucky.
[ And, you know, not busy with nine projects. ]
I think continuing to offer help as often and as much as we can is a good start. That may be a paltry answer, but we have to build the rapport first. Trading, purchasing and patronizing businesses in that area. Showing concern, building relationships, all of the...very normal, mundane things, as we continue to remind them we are people, too, like them, no matter what we look like.
[ A pause. ]
My concern is something will happen again like these disappearances, and it will go unnoticed for too long and cause too much damage to the people here. If we're out and about, if we get to know people and recognize faces, we'll be in a better position to offer our support before it becomes dire.
It makes sense. They won't believe in our dedication or care what we have to say if we just show up and start acting important.
[Like trying to start a militia or whatever... He skipped that discussion for so many reasons.]
I'll take more walks around the tolerant districts in the meantime. There were a few people I met when the news of the missing people broke that I'd like to check up on, anyway.
It's going to take more time than we likely have to build up the trust necessary...but we have to start somewhere. They need our help now.
[ Regardless of what they look like. It's mutually beneficial, even if she recognizes there's some manipulation involved: she knows plenty of people may not want to help Karteria and she understands why, but they need people to trust them if they have any hope of trying to leave.
If such a thing is still possible. ]
I appreciate it. You'd have done it anyway but...it will be a large help, so thank you. I'll keep an eye out for others who can help us. And in the meantime, if there's anything I can do or if you have further ideas, please let me know.
Momo suggested similarly. I'd like to find somewhere private first, but we should get everyone meeting so we can recognize one another and know who to hand information off to. I'm looking into prices on a small studio to rent out.
[ For art purposes and some other things going forward, but the point would've been to have a private place for meetings too. ]
Sure. Speaking of funds, Gojo- [sigh. gojo.] -has apparently thrown money at someone, Tifa, to work on a soup kitchen of sorts in the worse-off areas. I'm helping with that, so we'll see what strides we can make down there.
I can do that. If you know Texas, she might be a good fit.
[ No, wait. ]
Only... If you do speak with her, please ensure she takes proper breaks. She always wants to be busy and I can't deny her that, but she seems to push herself too much.

Should we have meetings at some point about this, to, I don't know, assess progress? You shouldn't have to worry about everything at once.

I believe I spoke to her once. Once we're at the proper stage, I'll see if she's available.
