[But he'd rather not belabor that massive goddamn tragedy, so he'll leave it at that. He's nodding along, but- voice.]
With food already in short supply, we should keep it simple: nutritious meals without too much necessary prep time after the ingredients have been delivered. Portability, too, to keep things moving. I like the already established kitchen, so if they'd let you run a meal pickup line out of it, that's perfect. Once there's manpower, a few people could take lunches straight to the locals, spread the word...
I think accessible ingredients are going to be the biggest hurdle, when it comes to getting started. Thoughts?
Accessible ingredients are huge. I can work with a lot -- I'm used to dealing with whatever was in excess and needed to be processed quickly, or spicing up canned and other preserved food. I probably also need a log of competent cooks or people who can follow directions so we can process big batches when they come in. Runners to do a meals on wheels would be great. I'd want to preference school age children, the sick, and the elderly and their families.
Actually...I have someone in mind to help me with running the kitchen who is also good with large food prep, and Gojo gave me some money for ingredients.
Do you have any leads on sourcing? I don't know what the hunting or foraging situation is here, but that's maybe something Augmented could do that isn't currently open to the city.
I can canvas, make a list of good delivery points? Door-to-door might be unwieldy in the long run, but we can prioritize reaching certain neighborhoods first. It won't hurt to check in on them, either.
As for sourcing, I know someone who's been mapping the wilderness— brought me a load of mushrooms, once. Not sure he'd be interested in being a runner, but I'll give him a nudge about hunting. And there are some people who might be willing just for something to do...
That would be amazing. Yeah, if we target a neighborhood or too and they trust us, they'll start helping us expand too. Better to start small and do a good job.
Mushrooms are great. I know some people are hunting too. We don't need that all the time, but it can go a long way.
I cook -- used to run a bar and restaurant. Vander did too. I'm going to ask if he wants to help.
Oh, I spoke to him over the network. [Not about cooking, though...] Anyone willing to help is a great asset.
I don't know as much about food, though; could you give me a list of things you'll need? Ingredients and other materials. If you're going to be handling the cooking side, let me handle the other aspects so you'll have more time to focus on production.

[He'll ask around.]
Who's your cook?
